DV for Developers Version

The CarDAQ-DV is a rugged vehicle communications tool intended for use by 3rd party software companies. With the CarDAQ-DV software developers can easily add vehicle diagnostic and communication to their existing application without spending time learning vehicle diagnostics and communications. Examples include fleet management, emissions test stations, diagnostics software, shop management software, and many other automotive applications.

Diagnostic Integration

The CarDAQ-DV has a diagnostic library and API available called JVCI for 3rd party application integrators. This software and hardware will easily allow developers to add vehicle diagnostics to their existing applications without requiring vehicle diagnostics or communication knowledge. The Drew Tech diagnostic library includes DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) with descriptions, live PID data logging, and enhanced manufacturer-specific diagnostics.

J2534 Communications

Get on the vehicle bus using the only standard for OBD-II communications. Works with 3rd party J2534 software applications.

Remote Diagnostics and Standalone operations

CarDAQ-DV runs it's own operating system, embedded Linux, which allows it to be used as a standalone tool without a PC attached during operation. The Linux installation includes a file and web server which could simplify development of remote diagnostics and management applications. Imagine writing your own C/C++ application to perform an on-road test, then use 802.11 WiFi to wirelessly download a vehicle's data as soon as it re-enters the repair facility.

Software Supported

Use any PassThru (J2534) compliant application or create your own applications in LabVIEW™, C, or Visual Basic.

Additionally, CarDAQ-DVcan host PassThru (J2534) applications on the internal embedded Linux processor. Use your favorite language, including: TCL, Perl, .Net, Java, or C.

Note: Drew Technologies provides an application programmer interface (DLL) for OEMs, integrators, or end-users to develop their own PassThru (SAE J2534) applications. This is responsibility of the buyer.
