Current Work Arounds within Ford Module Programming

AS-BUILT work around for FMP

FYI: For post 2001 vehicles, if the PCM has a P1000 DTC, the vehicle must be driven through the drive cycle as outlined in the PC/ED manual to clear the code before it can be programmed.

Pre 2001 vehicles
Pre 2001 vehicle as-built issues should be resolved in FMP 69.

Here a current work around for pre 2001 vehicles without As-built, and all other vehicles that have missing or corrupt As-built data. This works for 2001 and later vehicles as well.

  1. Start a new session and let FMP identify the vehicle normally, then turn the key off and leave it OFF.

  2.  Next select the Toolbox at the top, then Module Programming, then Programmable Module Installation.

  3. Keep the key off and press the tick when prompted.

  4. When the screen instructing the tech to install the new module appears, follow all key cycles after that point.

Next select the Toolbox at the top, then Module Programming, then Programmable Module Installation.
3. Keep the key off and press the tick when prompted.
4. When the screen instructing the tech to install the new module appears, follow all key cycles after that point.

Module Reprograming

  1. Start a new session and let FMP identify the vehicle normally, then turn the key off and leave it OFF. This is at the screen that show vehicle information nad says "Complete at the bottom.

  3. When you reach the screen that says A later Calibration is available, or that No later Calibration is available, turn the key on.

Lost Security Access when programming new FICM
  1. Start the programming process normally and follow all directions through the beginning of the progamming of the FICM.

  2. When the FICM finishes programming, DO NOT key the vehicle off when prompted, leave the key on and press the check mark in the lower right hand corner when a key cycle is prompted.

  3. Leave the key on until the transmission starts flashing, then follow all key cycles prompted form that point forward.
